How To Use Real Suggestion In Mind Reading & Mentalism Tricks
Of course the nature of mind reading and mentalism gives the impression the mind reader or mentalist has special abilities. Whether it be psychic abilities, abnormal psychological influence or any host of weird and wonderful powers.
With the psychological persona, many tricks include the illusion that the mentalist is influencing the volunteer's decision, but I've always tried to push the boundaries of what's actually possible and there's one method I've come across that is probably as close the boundary as you can get.
I found that you can use subliminal suggestion to influence a spectators decision when you give them a series of options.
The easiest way to explain it would be to get someone to choose a number between one and five What you do is when you call out their options you say, choose a number “one, two, three, four or five”
You can then get them more often than not to choose the number you want.. but how?
It's quite simple, you actually nod your head ever so slightly on the number you want them to choose. If you are to try this it will take you quite some time to do it without being obvious. It's a very slight nod The spectator should only subconsciously pick up on your suggestion.
To give you an example if you want to influence the volunteer to choose the number 4 you say to the volunteer “Pick a number between one, two, three, four (nod your head as you say it) or five”.
I've tested out 2 different ways, one is repeating the process again, with the same nod but also just doing it the once and pushing for them to answer. I found that doing it once and forcing them to pick a number quickly worked best, I think this is because the subconscious mind is more likely to kick in when you don't give them too much time to ponder and change their mind.
This like all real suggestion and influence doesn't always work and it's wise to have an 'out'. If you don't know what an out is then I suggest reading a little deeper into mind reading and mentalism techniques. Either way, try this out when you can do it and it won't matter if you get it wrong, do it as a preliminary effect before you go on to do a proper mentalism trick which is guaranteed to work.
A Simple Bit of Mind Reading You Can Use Right Now
There aren't many mind reading tricks you can perform completely naked but I've got one for you right here. Not that you'd ever want to perform a mind reading trick naked, although what you do in your spare time is your prerogative, just keep it to yourself. Please.
Anyhow, there's one trick that you can perform as a little test to prime your volunteer before using a more foolproof trick. Yes, this trick isn't fool proof but I have a 90% success rate which is pretty darn good for a trick that is so god damn clean. When I say clean, I mean there's literally nothing to use, no gimmicks, no cards, no bits of paper, nothing. You only need your mind.
It's a fairly old trick and one that is also used by Pick Up Artists world wide to show that you are 'mysterious' and have a talent. It was made famous in the book “The Game” written by Neil Strauss.
What you basically do is ask a volunteer to choose a number between 1 and 10 and you are able to guess which one they choose most of the time. You are able to do this because 9 out of 10 people will generally choose the number 7.
You need to dress it up to suit your mind reading persona but I personally use it along with the 'choose a colour trick' and say it's just a test. When it hits, it's amazing, when it doesn't I say, “Ahhh, you're a 'number 3' person (or whatever number they chose), that's interesting, let me try this on you..” and I proceed to perform an incredible foolproof ultimate mind reading & mentalism trick like the ones in the manual I wrote.
It's something every mind reader or mentalist should have in their arsenal because you can perform it any time, at the bar, at a party, anywhere you wish.

Mind Reading Trick: Freak Somone Out in 6 Seconds or Less With Cold Reading
Yes, our old friend, Cold Reading. If you don't know what cold reading is, it's basically what many psychics use when they give you your first reading if they've never met you before. It encompasses an array of different techniques but mostly it involves using general statements called Barnum statements that are general to most people but when executed well can make it look like a miracle. When the cold reader or psychic gets it right it is called a hit. When they get it wrong or it doesn't match up with the person it's called a miss. So when psychics or cold readers use Barnum statements along with an array of other techniques, more bolder than others, you can create the illusion that you are truly psychic.
Many people may think cold reading is a lot more accurate than it really is because they've seen psychics or mentalists on TV saying stuff that seems amazing, some also think psychics cannot be using cold reading because of how accurate they were. This is probably because TV psychics are using a mixture of cold and hot reading. Hot reading generally means they've acquired information before the show from a source which they can use to create a true miracle. Hot reading would be if I did a reading on someone I'd never met, but their friend had told me some private information about them before which I could now use in a reading.
So anyway, on to the point of me writing this. To learn cold reading properly takes years but I've discovered one cold reading question you can use along side your normal mind reading and mentalism tricks. Bear in mind, this is only to be used if you are able to perform ultimate mind reading tricks as a back up as it doesn't always hit, but when it does, my my, you have a serious miracle on your hands.
Basically what you say is “Where's the broken door?”, you need to say this in passing and it's best to say it inbetween a mind reading trick.
They are of course going to say “What?”, you say, “I just got a reading off you about a broken door, where is it?”
They will usually say, “It's in my house, the door to the utility room is broken” or something along those lines.
You then say, “Ah yes, I'd get that fixed if I were you” and carry on with your mind reading performance.
If it doesn't hit, you just say “Ok, keep a look out for a broken door, I get a feeling you will encounter one in the near future”
This covers you for each eventuality and you've just got to put your own personal spin on it.
You're probably wondering why I use the line about the broken door, well it's basically because it's such a general thing that most people have encountered a broken door recently or even have one in their home, on their car, in the office etc. A broken door can also include a broken frame, door handle, cracked glass etc.
The beauty of this is that people will make it fit if you give them time to find the meaning. When they tell people about the trick. Go out and try it today but make sure you've got some ultimate mind reading tricks as a back up if it fails.
How NOT To Impress Women With Mind Reading Tricks
I've been performing mind reading and mentalism tricks on people for years and it took me a long time to realise something quite important about performing it on females if you want to actually impress them. There was one occasion where I learned the most from and I'll share with you the story.
A couple of years ago I was at a friend's house party. Naturally, like most gatherings I attend, a few of my friends pleaded with me to perform a few tricks for the guests. I say pleaded because they know I only perform when I'm in the mood to perform. Although I'm a performer by nature, to be truthful, sometimes I just cannot be bothered and don't take kindly to people expecting me to perform like a monkey whenever they want me to.
Mind reading and mentalism to me is a bit more special than to just randomly 'do a trick' whenever someone asks you to. I believe in the experience of the spectators and if I don't think the mood is right, I won't perform. That being said, this time I felt the time was right, it probably had to do with the 70% of attendees being rather beautiful females and one in particular really caught my eye.. so anyway..
I decided I WOULD perform some mind reading. I thought this would be a great way to get this young ladies' attention.
So sat at a large table in the kitchen surrounded by about 10 people, and more importantly, the young lady I had my eye on and I proceeded to warm up with some ESP testing cards and rightly guessing which ESP symbol each volunteer had chosen. I could feel the spectators getting excited. I then moved onto a bit of playing card mind reading which involved reading the minds of volunteers and correctly guessing which playing card they chose. I also mixed in a bit of pseudo-psychological influence for good measure.
I could see it all going really well and the important female spectator was probably showing the most interest, asking me to 'do her next'.. read her mind that is. So anyway, what happened next confused me for a good few days.
I decided I would try out a cold reading technique I had learned earlier that day, what that involved was asking them a very general statement that would either hit – and you'd have a miracle and miss – where you could brush it off as something that could happen in the future. For those of you who don't know, cold reading is what psychics mostly use when they give one-on-one demonstrations of 'psychic ability' to people they've just met. So I said to her “Where's the broken door?”
She looked at me puzzled, “What do you mean?”
So I said it again, “Where's the broken door?”
Her puzzlement turned into downright shock and she ran out of the kitchen screaming to tell her best friend who was in another room. I found her in the other room explaining to her friend what I had just said and it was impossible for me to know. I found out that literally the week before, she had been locked in her bathroom because the lock on the door was faulty and she had to call down to her house mate to get help. I had performed a miracle.
I was almost shaking with excitement but my excitement was very short lived when for the rest of the night, she wouldn't go near me because 'I was just too weird'. Great.. she thought I was a f****ing freak.
So the morale of the story and to bring this to an end is be very careful what you perform and who you perform it on. If you're trying to impress most women, don't completely freak them out, unless the girl's a bit weird, they probably won't enjoy it. I've figured out the reason is that if they think you're truly psychic they feel naked and exposed and can't relax around you. This is probably why I don't claim to be psychic and instead perform 'psychological tests'.
Either way, experience will tell you which tricks and suited for which people. I have a trick in the ultimate mind reading manual I wrote called Stigmata 2.0 and it's so powerful I will usually only perform it to the right people. I've scared a few women away with it let me tell you but then again, I've got a few numbers off it too.

A Powerful Mind Reading Trick You Can Perform Today
Before I tell you the trick, it's a trick that should be used alongside some regular powerful mind reading tricks like the ones contained in 'The Ultimate Mind Reading & Mentalism Manual'.
The reason for it is because it doesn't work 100% of the time, but don't let that put you off. I personally have a 90% strike rate and it's so simple to perform you can perform it today. You can perform it any time, anywhere to freak people out and show them you have special abilities.
What you do, is you say to someone, “Think of a colour”, you then say..
“Hmmm, You changed your mind a little there, I wanted you to think of the first colour, the first colour you thought of was red.. “
Pause for a moment to gauge their reaction and say.. “then unconsciously you changed to blue <slight pause> and then you flickered on purple. What colour did you choose in the end?”
Nine times out of ten they will be shocked as soon as you mention red and you won't have to say the line about blue and purple so you will have your miracle straight away, sometimes they will shake their head or not react after you say they thought of red which then means you need to deliver the blue and purple lines. That's why you need to pause for a moment to see their reaction first.
This trick works on the basis from studies whereby they asked a load of people to think of a colour and red was the most common, followed by blue and then purple. Also, some people will think of red and then change to blue as well. All you have to point out that they could have unconsciously changed the colour so you're covered.
Of course I only do this trick if I know I have a few other tricks I can perform after this trick because if you get it wrong, you want them to forget about it while you perform another trick.
I personally use this trick as a 'test' to see if they will be good candidates for my mind reading tricks. It's not a real test, but I tell them it is so if I get it wrong, I was only 'testing them'. Testing THEM, not ME.
Don't underestimate this baby, it's really powerful when it hits and can set you up to use your ultimate mind reading tricks to REALLY freak people out.
